AIMS OF MONTESSORI DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES:

To provide students with

·         professional competence as Montessori teachers in the following areas:

·         A good understanding of the Montessori educational philosophy as it relates to infants/children/adolescents of the relevant age

·         A thorough knowledge of and the ability to use Montessori educational materials and activities for the relevant age 

·         The ability to implement a Montessori curriculum for the relevant age 

·         A basic knowledge of child development and issues relevant to the holistic care and safety of infants/children/adolescents of the relevant age

·         some skills and knowledge for a Montessori classroom, as relevant to that unit of study

·         In-depth knowledge of the Montessori philosophy

·         The ability to reflect up and analyse the Montessori method in the light of other methods, and to discuss and defend it with other professionals 

·         The ability to design and manage Montessori curriculum within the regulations of a state curriculum
